On 17 October 2014, the Leader of "Svoboda" Oleh Tiahnybok stated that the previous Government supported small and middle business only verbally and was adopting laws in favour of large financial-industrial groups which were controlled by the Government. This leaded to almost total extermination of the middle class.
Nationalist emphasised that businessman who survived in such harsh conditions had to feed oligarchy and bureaucrats all the time.
Oleg Tyagnybok stated that to change the situation it is necessary to change the law. But if the Parliament will continue to ignore problems of small businesses we have no chance to revive Ukrainian economy.
"Svoboda" was the only political fraction in the Parliament who unanimously voted for initiatives on protection of middle class in Ukraine such as bills "On simplifying of opening the business" (N2258a) and "On a moratorium on collection of property of citizens of Ukraine, given as security for a loan in foreign currency" (N4953).
