During a briefing at the Parliament on the 16 September, Oleh Tiahnybok stated the following:
"On 16 September, the situation that occurred on 16 January this year was repeated in the Parliament. Only "Svoboda" did not give a single vote for a closed session. After a break, the Parliament still voted "in secret." Then immediately the Bill on "the special status of Donbas" was voted for. In effect, this bill de-facto legitimizes the DPR and LPR, giving the regions "a special status" and the right to form a police force and judicial system. Deputies from "Svoboda", in order to avoid speculation, pulled out their cards and lifted them up. However, the bill was passed, and we consider this an announcement of surrender in the Russian-Ukrainian war. ".
The leader of nationalists stated that a number of points in the document do not correspond with the best interests of Ukraine. Those points include: creation of "people's police" which would employ terrorists; right to elect judges and prosecutors (even though Kyiv would give the approval in this case); absence of protection of Ukrainian-speaking population at the occupied territory; absence of the clear border of the territory (Donetsk and Luhansk regions are mentioned in general). Also, while the right of autonomy is given to those territories, Ukrainians would have to finance the reconstruction of destroyed territories. This so-called status will remain for three years.
Given that the norm of disarmament of terrorists and withdrawal of Russian army is not included into the Bill, the Elections that will be held on the 9 November 2014, and would be organised the same way (or worth) as in Crimea. "Bandits and terrorists will get full legitimacy, and it will be accepted under the gunpoint, "- said Oleh Tiahnybok.
277 MPs voted for the Bill, 287 MPs voted for the amnesty.
"The price of the so-called "truce" is too much for Ukraine to bear," - concluded the Leader of "Svoboda.".
